Changing graphics card with iMac

Hi guys,

I am going to buy my first apple, iMac. But the thing that is bothering me is that currently I am using ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon X1900 but there is no All-in-Wonder offering with any Apple product that I know of. So is it possible that I purchase iMac with any graphics card, say that X1600 and then replace that with my All-in-Wonder. I guess it narrows down to is the Intel iMac going to be compatible with standard PC hardware out there. Am I going to have any trouble besides the inevitable no-driver issue for Mac OS X?

    Hi There,

iMacs are NOT user upgradeable, if you need better graphics, you'd have to order your iMac from the website and They will build it for you according to your specifications. Currently, it comes with ATI Radeon X1600 graphics processor with 128MB of GDDR3 SDRAM, but you can upgrade it to a 256MB one (but as I said, they will add it for you - it's not user upgradeable). If you need video-in feature, I would suggest you getting the Elgato Hybrid TV-Receiver. and for video out, just get the apple adapter.
