dual G5 and keyboard issues at start-up

I have had this problem for a couple years and never got arround to fixing it. The problem is that when I try to start up my dual 2GHZ G5 with the keyboard and hold down either the c key or option key etc.. nothing happens. The OS boots up as if nothing is held down on the keyboard. I tried several solutions and none of them have worked. I reset PRAM, I brought in the open firmware program from the dvd and put it in my utilities and made sure nothing was checked in order to make the user have to enter a password at start up.



Any ideas would be appreciated. I am trying wiht a USB keyboard, the one I got with an older system (dual G4) and I am also trying with my apple bluetooth keyboard.
