Internet Explorer: Caches, History...

I use MS Internet Explorer in OS X. Don't beat me! LOL

I noticed that when I type in a URL in the address field it tries and auto-fill the url with past sites if it can find a similar url from my past usage. I want to DISABLE this, but I cant seem to do it. Example: As I type a-p-p-l-e it wants to take me to <a href="http://www.appleinvestors.com"; target="_blank">www.appleinvestors.com</a> and NOT <a href="http://www.appleinsider.com."; target="_blank">www.appleinsider.com.</a> It is annoying. I haven't been to appleinvestors.com in over a year!

In IE's Advanced Settings panel, I have the cache set to 0, and I have "remember last X places" set to 0 also. I have "offline viewing" set to NO. Yet it still sems to try and take me to old sites by "auto-filling" in urls to undesirable locations for me.

How do I kill this "feature"?

Yoiu could check to see if there's anything in Library/Preferences/Explorer that should be emptied. I know that in there is history.html and the Download Cache, but none of them seem to be it. Isn't there an option in the IE prefs to clear the cache?

    Try this:

In IE Preferences/Web Browser/Browser Display uncheck Use Address AutoComplete under Toolbar Settings.

    That should do it.
