Powerbook G4 screen bust?
So I was working on my Powerbook last night (15" 1.25Ghz albook) and the screen flickered a few times and then went dark. Not completely dark but the same as the lowest brightness setting. If I change the brightness the on screen indicator goes up and down but the brightness doesn't change.
I've plugged it into an external screen this morning and it can drive that ok. It's mile out of warranty so the questions are:
1. What do you think it is, a bad connection internally to the screen of something more terminal?
2. Anyone had the same issue before and had it diagnosed?
3. Is it fixable? / Worth fixing?
4. Should I just buy an external screen and live with it? Or buy an iMac or something? (I rarely use it as a laptop truth be told and was probably going to replace it with an iMac in a year or two anyway. This makes this question even harder because if I bought a screen I'd probably have no need for it in a year or so anyway.)
Any advice or clues on what to check would be REALLY appreciated!
Thanks
