.mdf file?

Hi, I have a question about .mdf files. Theyre disk images right? How exactly do I burn one to a cd so that itll load normally

    Sometimes you can just name is .iso and it will work in OS X. It doesn't always work though. If it doesn't, you probably have to use Bootcamp or something. I think it's a proprietary format like .dmg is.
