Can't Install Tiger on Mac Mini

I'm trying to install Tiger on a Mac Mini but when I get to the destination disk screen.

It says that I can't install on the specific drive. I've tried formatting using the Disk Utility as well as third party utility but still no dice. Anyone have any clue as to why? Thanks.

    The Mac mini shipped with Tiger preinstalled. The computer is Intel-based. The retail version of Tiger is PPC-exclusive. You cannot install the retail version of Tiger on any Intel-based Mac including the Mac mini. If you want to reinstall the OS, then you have to use the System Restore disk that shipped with the computer.

    All true for the latest models. But the Mini was first built with the G4 processor, Apple skipped the G5 and then went with the Intels. The first round of Minis shipped with Panther. What model Mini do you have?
