After buying a monochrome Canon MF4150 and discovering after I got it hooked up that it doesn't "fully" support Macs, I'm asking for other people's experiences with multifunction color laser machines. What is good and what sucks on the market?

What functions are not working? Have you installed the OS X drivers at this link? Can you still return it? Maybe that will motivate them to support the printer properly.
Epson has excellent products and excellent Mac support. I would probably go with Epson because of this: Epson Stylus Photo RX580
You can use OS X for faxing.
Lexmark supports OS X, but I have no experience with them: Lexmark X5470
