iPhoto :: skimming thru images ..

I have my iPhoto set to "open the image in a separate window" when I double-click on it......

is there anyway [either by apple-script, or maybe there's an option I'm overlooking?] for the window to have back & forward arrows, so I can skip to the next picture [in the same album] when I click on it?

I don't want to use the slideshow feature, but it's frustrating to have to close the opened window, and re-open another window for each picture.

Thanks for any help!!

Closest thing that I know of is to have a double-click open the image in the Edit view in the same iPhoto window. This has Previous and Next buttons in the bottom pane to let you move through your images.
