I have Creative Suite 3 for Windows, however, I'm convinced on switching. I was wondering how Parallels + CS3 would run together with the base-model Macbook Pro. Could anyone here enlighten me?
It runs ok but since Parallels is a virtual machine, it only has as much Ram as you assign to it and a few times when I was trying out Photoshop in Parallels, I would get an error about running out of memory. You'd need to give Parallels 1GB so your machine would need 2GB to help avoid this situation. Also, I found sharing files using Parallel's shared folder to be unstable.
Also, Windows won't see your Mac font collection and Parallels only uses 1 CPU so CS3 won't get the benefit of your dual core machine.
I would say either use Bootcamp or try and exchange Windows CS3 for Mac CS3. The Mac version runs a bit better IMO, the graphics updates seem smoother. Parallels is really an app I would use for that must-have but occasional Windows software, it's not a solution I would recommend for software you might rely on day to day.

Thank you so much. You really cleared some things up for me.

Bootcamp is definitely the way to go. Everything will run natively with no intermediaries (parallels)
