This neat feature first debuted on Macs with the Radius Pivot, circa 1990

Apple has had the opportunity to sell pivoting monitors ever since, but has chosen not to. I don't see any inclination from them to start now.

Wow, I never thought about that but it's not a bad idea at all. I kinda like it. I know a few people who do stuff that works better with the screen sideways, so to me, it's not entirely unbelieveable to me. Plus if there is a design similarity, it would be a cute gimmick to have a function similarity. However, I don't believe that there are enough people out there who need the sideways screens, so they won't bother. Not to mention it would drive the price of a low-end machine up.

First time I see this beastie !!!

You're probably right --- a large screen needs no spin.

Maybe a little screen does ??? MicroMac ? For text docs.

OMG... I feel ancient. The Radius rotating display is soooooo old.

If the display rotates 90°, I wonder if the built-in iSight will accommodate the rotation too? Knowing Apple, it would, although given Apple's penchant for aesthetics, I doubt they will come out with an iMac that has a rotating display.

Works fine with a 17" screen. But how are you going to do that with a 24" iMac?
