56" Flat Screen Computer Options

For father's day, I am planning on getting my dad a unit that will display a computer at full resolution on his 56" flat screen LCD TV. I haven't tried this for quite a few years and would like to find out if anyone has done it and how before I go and spend the money myself. I'm not talking about resolution of 800x600, but something actually worth the effort. Anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate it!

    Well... that sort of depends on what resolution the TV is. If it has an HDMI or DVI connection, you can plug most computers directly into it, and it will work automatically. No special 'unit' needed.
