is the 7200rpm HDD worth the wait in the MBP 15in?

Hi everyone



whats the feeling on whether the faster hard drive is worth the wait, the dude at the Mac shop said you would only notice a difference if doing intensive tasks, like HD editing or photoshop. is this true or does it speed everything up?

    You really wont see a huge difference in your basic applications. With higher end things yeah you'll see the difference.



    Ive debated about not waiting the long 4-6 week ship time and get the base machine but Id regret it and everytime Id open the machine Id curse myself for not getting the 7200 rpm HD. So Ive just admitted to myself that it sucks but hey if Im dropping 2k plus on something Im not going to have any "I wish I had..." thoughts.

    I thought about waiting, but decided that I'd rather have the machine now, and can always upgrade the hard drive later, at much less cost than Apple charges. I have no regrets as either way, this machine is much faster than the MBP CD 2.0 that I was using.
