No audio on Quicktime

When trying to play a xvid.avi movie on Quicktime, I got a perfect image but no audio. The error message said a component was missing from Quicktime and loaded an Apple page with different components. I downloaded the DIVX component as that seemed logical but still no audio, even when I play through DIX Player. I've never had problems with avi in the past.



How do I know what to install?

If you really want to use quicktime, check what the audio format is in the quicktime info window. It could be AC3 or something.
