Floppy disk problem

Calling all Mac Experts,



I'm currently using a Power Mac G5 on 10.4.9. and I'm trying access some audio samples from some old floppy disks.



I've got a USB smart disk but when it's plugged in it doesn't appear alongside my other drives. When I put a floppy disk the light comes on there's a bit of whirring and then nothing.



Any ideas?

    Thanks for this.



    I checked it out. The disks I'm using are HD with two holes so it must something else. Maybe the drive is faulty although I thought if that was the case it would not operate at all.



    Any other ideas?
