iSync and Address Book add dashes to my phonebook

Always a pleasure to join an apple community
So I have had this little problem for a while.. I am using iSync to sync my contacts from my Address Book on my Mac to my Cellphone (Sony Ericsson w800i, previously a k750i)
What happens is that if I update any info on the Mac side, when I sync the phone, all of the altered contacts suddenly have a "-" appended to their names.
I can't seem to figure this out!
Anyone had a similar experience/know how to help??

When I enter +12025551212 into my blackberry and then sync it ends up in my address book as +1(202)555-1212 on the first sync, ane then as +1(202)555-1212 in my bb on the 2nd sync. Nothing happens to the names, but I I think the number formatting is a great side-effect, so I have never thought to question it.
