For anybody wishing to terminate their cell phone wireless plan without having to pay the early termination fee, perhaps in order to switch to at&t for the iPhone, there is a very simple way to do this.
The key is to make your wireless carrier terminate the plan, not you. The best way to do this is to use your phone for a prolonged period of time in a "Partner" coverage area. According to many wireless carriers statements: "Excessive use of Partner coverage may subject your service to early termination"
That means you have to get a national plan, then use a bunch of minutes outside of your 'local calling area' so the phone company has to pay some other provider for those minutes.
I personally don't see this working. At least not very quickly. They all say you have to spend a bunch of time there.
