Looking for a good diagnostic program-Hard Drive,

I'm going to be upgrading the hard drive in my MacBook Pro and want to find a good diagnostic program that will test the speeds of it so that I can do it before and then after. It would be nice if it's a all around program which tests things such as video rates, cpu speed, etc. Any advice?

I think you probably want a benchmark program instead of a diagnostic program. Diagnostic programs usually check for device errors, like Techtool Pro would: http://www.micromat.com/index.php?op...ask=view&id=31



A good benchmark tool I find is Xbench: http://www.xbench.com/



I noted a 25% increase in drive performance going from a 5400 rpm to a 7200 rpm.



It tests CPU and graphics performance too.
