SpringBoard has AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile and Vodafone PNGs

I was just browsing through the iPhone's system files and saw four PNGs named FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png, FSO_CARRIER_CINGULAR.png, FSO_CARRIER_TMOBILE.png and FSO_CARRIER_VODAFONE. Could Vodafone be for Europe? Or, do you think it's just referring to Verizon in the US?
