Will Apple's iGadgets be the gateway for malware propagation on Macs?

Yes. I know that Mac OS X is generally more secure than Windows. But let' face it, a very big reason why Mac don't have much (if any) malware ( i.e., viruses, spyware, trojans, etc.) is because Macs aren't in the hands of people that create malware.

Now with the introduction of OS X for the iPhone (and potentially the 6th generation iPod) Apple has placed OS X into a lot people's hands. Most of which probably don't use (or never used) Macs. While this might be good thing for Apple's halo effect to sell more Macs. Is it good for Mac OS X security?

A week after the iPhone's release, we are already seeing quite a few news articles talking about how hackers are hacking the iPhone? Currently this hacking is isolated to activating the iPhone without AT&T or customizing it in some way. But could this hacking evolve into the creation of malware for the iPhone? If so, could an iPhone virus affect Mac running Mac OS X?

It will be interesting to see how things develop...
