I'm confused by .mac iSync

I don't understand what iSync does when it has conflicting information. Suppose I change a phone number in the .Mac address book and then sync it with Address Book - what does it do with the old number in Address Book? Does it simply delete the older entry? And iSync does work both ways, yes?

    It looks at whatever record is the most up to date and replaces others with it. I assume.
