Airport Express Problems?
I seem to be having a lot of connectivity problems with the Airport Express. (At least that is what I am assuming). I have my Airport Express connected to my Toshiba cable modem (service is Cox Communications) and use my work laptop (Dell... ugh).
So now for the problem. Whenever I bring my computer home and try to connect to my wireless router, it keeps telling me that I am unable to connect. In order to connect, I have to unplug my Airport Express, then unplug my cable modem. Plug the modem back in and let it refresh and then plug the Airport Express back in.
After this, I am able to connect via the wireless network. So I guess my question is:
1. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Airport Express?
2. Is this even an issue with the Express or a problem with the cable modem or laptop?
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Since converting to Apple I have never had it drop out. My wireless router is the same although I no longer use it to stream to my HiFi (I now have AppleTV), so I use it as a wireless print server.
Does the light on Airport Express flash amber? Or is it green when you can't connect? Try updating the PC Airport Express setup software. Also rather than disconnecting the Airport Express and modem, try connecting to it using a LAN cable and see if your PC picks it up then.
I had a similar problem when trying to use my Airport Express to stream iTunes content to my HiFi amp back in the day. I must add at this stage that it was before I converted to Apple and used it to connect with my PC. I found that it would lose the network every now and again and I could never understand why.

Sorry, I should have mentioned in my previous post that I had this issue before with my MacBook when I had it. Although, it didn't happen as often.
To answer your questions:
1. I have never used it to stream my iTunes.
2. The Airport Express is solid green when I cannot connect.
When you say connect it using a LAN cable? I'm sorry, I understand some computer terms but you lost me there. I have ethernet cords, are those the same?? Also, what should I connect - the modem or Airport Express - to the laptop?
I'm debating getting the Airport Extreme, but I read a couple places that it has compatibility issues with some devices. Anyone know if it would work with my X-Box 360?
