    Yeah 25% sounds about right.



    The number I've been able to come up was 30% if you run purely on UMTS as they did, but it's certainly more like 10%-20% if you have system software that powers on the UMTS radio only when needed for active browsing and phone/video calls (they sound better).



    Notably when both EDGE and UMTS were in idle, downloading email every 15 minutes, battery life was the same.



    However I strongly disagree with their talk time figures. Looking at Softbank documentation (as they offer GSM/UMTS mobiles and Japanese companies have the most experience with UMTS chipsets/power management) the ~30% figure holds true. Perhaps 2100 MHz UMTS chipsets are better then the American 850/1900 MHz band chipsets, or perhaps they have better power management software.
