I am having trouble installing the BC Assistant on my MBP. It stalls on the "prepairing to install" screen. See the screen shots.

Here is my system profile. The firmware has been updated.

It wants to install it on volume "(null)"

Finally the installation locks up on this screen

How do I fix this?

Does this happen with a lot of installers or is this the first one to do this?

To get round it in the mean time, you can do a couple of things. One is to manually extract the installer files. Usually they are in a .pax.gz file inside the installer app. You right-click and show package contents.

Copy the pax.gz file out and double-click it to extract. Then just move the apps where you want.

An easier option is to get a program called Pacifist:

and just choose the Bootcamp installer.

THANK YOU! Downloaded Pacifist and it loaded without any problems. This was the first time I ever encountered anything like that. Thanks again!
