Be Mindful of Data Charges When Traveling Overseas
I recently went to London for vacation. I knew that roaming charges were present for both voice and data, but I never knew I would rack up such a bill.
Total text messages (50c each): $2.50
Total voice roaming ($1.50/min): $17.50
Total data roaming ($0.03/KB): $72
Yes, $72! That's what I get for not turning my mail autocheck off. I had it set to automatically check for mail every hour, and of course this happened during the blitz of the recent PDF spam craze.
Oh well, lesson learned! For others who are traveling, be mindful of roaming data charges when you travel.
