    Safari 1, 2, or beta?

For the beta, re-download and uninstall it. Then reinstall if you wish.

If you have such problems, it is very useful to tell the others what version of OS X and Safari you run. And if you have any hacks installed too. Otherwise it is like a shot in the dark.

For starters you can try to run Safari in a new user account and see this way if there is something wrong with some user-specific configuration file.

I ran the tiger install cd and repaired disks permissons and it fixed it. Some files must have been corrupt. The version of safari I am running is 2.0.4, i would never install the safari beta.
