Got the wife a MacBook and she is saying the camera light turns on sometimes, I looked and it does! You restart, still on but for some reason when you turn it off, it goes off. The camera also doesn't work when the light is on. Very creepy if you ask me. Any ideas to what this could be? I think hardware, but that is my take, whats yours?

This is happening to me as well. Not sure when the bug surfaced -- I can count the times on one hand when I have actually shut down by MB during the past year -- but it was probably in the last few OS updates. As you have mentioned, a restart corrects the issue.

It freaked me out at first, but I opened up Photo Booth and iChat and no video was present. I was also not connected to any networks. I'm going to send a bud report to Apple.

Don't worry... the information secretly gathered by your iSight is important to protect you from Al Qaeda and other Freedom Haters? who are plotting to rain death and destruction upon our great nation at this very moment. Be very afraid (um... of them, not us that is). Your government will use this intelligence responsibly and competently. You can trust us.

No, it's not Al Qadea, or even the UN, it's Major League Baseball. Bart knows, he knows all too well....

Hey, not that I want to keep this post alive, but I thought you should all know what the supposed Genius Bar said.

"Unless you can re-create it, there is nothing we can do" I have to say I was pissed. After explaining to him the exact scenario, and that it has happened to other people, the idiot behind the counter dismissed it as a user generated error. I told him next that I was not alone with such an error and he should probably take a closer look at it since I know it was not due to externally installed programs, but he persisted it is probably a web site that activates the camera. What the hell kind of sites does he think my wife is going on?!?

So, in result of the supposed geniuses, I got absolutely nowhere.
