Leopard date.

I was thinking about whether the release date for leopard would be let out to the general public sometime in late Sept/Oct. I thought it would be cool and I was going to be a nerd and wait in line for it and fun stuff like that. But then I realized that the only way Apple would do this is if they offered free upgrade coupons for macs bought between the date of the announcement and the date of the release as to not kill sales beforehand. I personally think that this unlikely to happen. How 'bout you?

Well, that's exactly what they have done for past releases of Mac OS X. They announce the date about 3 or 4 weeks ahead of the launch, and any machines purchased from that date on can upgrade to the new version for $10 or something.

We know it's October so it's likely they'll host an event to demo all the final release features with a date for the following week or something.
