I purchased the 802.11n enabler for my MBP C2D and ran it with no problems, however, I recently rebuilt my system with a fresh load (upgraded HD) and was curious, do I need to re-apply this update, or did it enable it in hardware not software?

Thanks!

You can check in the apple system profiler to see if n is supported.

Apple Menu --> About This Mac... --> More Info...

No that is not where to look. That will just give you useless number sequences.

    Here is what you do:

    1. Hit Apple-Shift-U (utilities).

    2. Open Network Utility.

    3. Go to the 'info' tab

    4. At the bottom it should say:

    "Model Wireless Network Adapter"

    " (802.11 a/b/g/n)"

if 802.11n is available or just a/b/g if it is not.

Ahh, the Network Utility is where it was at.

Yes, I will have to reapply the patch. That kind of stinks.

While we're on the subject... not really but whatever. Do you guys know of a good photo editor where I can do stuff like block sections out or blur them and such because the one I used for that was a demo (obviously) and it was difficult to use as I had to use the blur thing like 50 times. Preferably free.

Seashore is a good, simple and free editor. It's based on the GIMP but it's stripped down and rearranged.
