Gadget to give typing tactile feedback.. ish.. please read

Do you think this would work? Imagine a (possibly rubber based?) strip that you lay on top of the iphone over the keyboard, and it has the qwerty layout, it could be white with black letters (or vise versa or whatever), and there are bumps and such so that you can 'feel' the keys. The thought just came to my mind, and you could just put it on when you need to type. What do you think? Oh, the keys themselves aren't touching the iphone, so that when you push down it actually makes contact.

Hapetic feedback (i.e. the spot you touch vibrates) is much more elegant, but I suppose as a stop-gap until Apple includes it this would work.
