Mac Mini getting updates Apple Insider just another rumour starter?
Seems the FACTS as claimed by Appleinsider, posted here Link were anything but facts, consisting of made up GARBAGE at best.
Apples own Tim Cook confirmed the update to the Mac Mini on August 7th 2007 when asked "You didn't mention Mac mini today, how is it doing?"
Tim: "We're refreshing the Mac mini today."
Appleinsider so far hasn't seen fit to publish a retraction.
Perhaps better sources might be an idea?

Whether Apple will squeeze another revision from the mini, and how long it plans to allow existing models to linger, are both unclear. But as the extended Memorial Day break dawns upon us, the point being driven should be clear:
Ladies and gentlemen, AppleInsider believes in all sincerity that the Mac mini is dead.
We got the one last little update they mentioned as a possibility today. See the underlined part? Just a pin compatible processor swap and iLife '08 software. Just enough to clear out remaining surplus. Stick a fork in it the Mac mini is done. They have no need to issue a retraction.

Given that was posted at the end of a very long and insistant artical as ass covering I still say its one hell of a way to start what amounts to a rumour that got plastered over every blog and news site that could carry it. Interesting that this can happen and possibly effect mini sales, yet an Apple employee sells a few extra shares and THATS news. but I see they have now "subtly' added the Mini update to their news section "without fanfare"
We shall see what happens, their claim is that the minis existance will be ended 2007 taken from the RIP graphic 2005-2007 so 5 months to go.

both were news ON A MAC NEWS AND RUMOURS SITE
wtf? chill.
They have no need to issue a retraction.
They sure as hell ought to. They wrote that article in May and titled it "Closing the book on Apple's Mac mini".
They claimed impending doom and the mini would soon follow the 12" powerbook into oblivion. They hinted action around Memorial Day and they declared it DEAD.
This is August. It got a refresh. It ain't dead yet. It's going for a walk.
Vinea
And now the Mini has just the features I was looking for. I was thinking of buying one as a second Mac... server, Multimedia computer, etc.
Too bad I no longer have the cash.
Oh well, let's see if they're still around when I've saved some more money.
Of course, now I'm thinking maybe an iMac would be a better multimedia computer.

It won't be long now. Might as well put it on the cart.
