User upgrades on the new imacs

howdy people!

well i'm looking at the new imacs and considering my options. i'm tempted to go full on and get the top of the line model but it seems that other than the .4ghz on the processor, all the other benefits (disc size, ram) ought to be user upgradeable. therefore it seems effective to get the 2.4ghz 24", take out the hard-drive (and putting it in my raid case!) and add more ram (it's 1x1gb, so this offers the options of adding 1x1gb or even 1x2gb, allowing the option of going up to 4gb in the future without waste).

opinions?

Perhaps you are right... though I do wonder how much of a difference there is between the 2.4ghz core 2 duo and the 2.8ghz core 2 extreme.

yes, this is one thing i started considering after making this post. is it correct that the core 2 extreme is actually a desktop chip?
