watching embedded video

I was trying to watch an embedded video on a local TV station's website and got a message "The page '7Online.com: US and World NEws from WABC-TV' has content of MIME type 'application/x-olekobject'. Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed" .

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can find out what MIME plug-in I need? I use Safari, but had no better luck with Firefox (ddin't even get an error message). Strangely, I did get a pop-up error message with IE telling me the missing plug-in was Flash, but that makes no sense as I should have the most recent one installed for both Safari and Firefox.

PS I know I can get by using Realplayer in a pop-up window, but try to minimize that kind of stuff, as I'm always runnning out of memory on my Ibook.
