Apparently the screen has a metal surround (the black bit) and it's held in by magnets. The LCD panel behind is the same as the old iMac panel so if you don't like glossy, just remove the glass. :-)
I wonder when someone will make a matte glass screen replacement.
It's still way uglier inside than the original iMac G5.

not conclusive, but it looks like a user hard-drive upgrade is more trouble than it's worth? i have already asked about home upgrades in this thread: http://forums.appleinsider.com/showthread.php?t=77495
