Router

Hey Im tired of my router disconnecting me if you've been following my plee's of help on this forum. So the main computer is a windows based comp running DSL, its sending wirless signals out to windows/mac's. Im looking for the best router anywere from 50-100$.(Just not netgear) Whats your recomendations.

Oh the mac is an iMac Intel Core Duo.

    If you want to get a cheap wireless router then go with a G router. With most companies now using N, the price on the older G's is dropping. The Linksys WRT54GS is a good wireless router with 4 hardwired ports that you can get for about $70. You won't get the range of an N router but is will be fast enough to handle your DSL speed. Also most people do not need the range of the N. Make sure that you set up the firewall and change the password.

    The Linksys WRT54GL is a really good router for $53 and you can flash it with dd-wrt to get better speeds and range out of it.



    I found this to be very helpful in flashing dd-wrt.
