Got my new iMac 2.8

Fresh from Shangai my new Apple iMac has arrived. I am upgrading from an iMac 2.33 and here are some of my thoughts:

-Setting up was as easy as 1-2-3 although it did take 3 hours to get data from my old iMac.

-Speed: I upgraded to 4 GB RAM. I notice a difference on MS Office (faster) and Rapid Weaver which I use for my BLOG.

-The new keyboard feeld great I did not have to adjust to the new feel at all.

-Glossy screen: This took a bit of getting used to but I can see why Steve would have said customers prefer a glossy screen. It looks great and I have not had a problem with glare at all.

What would I have like to have had:

-A certificate good for a free upgrade to Leopard.

-Bottle of screen cleaner with cloth

-Faster processor 3.0+

    You got 4MB?!

Wow I'm jealous - that's 4 time as much as my Amiga 600!

No - seriously - very cool computer.

Can you comment on the heat and subsequent noise of the fans at different CPU loads?

Is there a chance that Apple give that free upgrade to new iMac 2007 buyers?

I have not experienced the "noise" problem as of yet and I have opened as many as 12 programs.

Can you run XBench and post your results? I think it would help a bunch of us decide if the 2.8 is worth the extra bucks.

That's cool. What are you gonna do with your previous top-of-the-line iMac?

    Thanks for sharing.

I have one coming at the end of the month; I will take the 2GB up to 4GB and move my wife's new 20" up to 2GB, or that's the plan.

I see that this memory is also good in the Mac Book Pro's.
