Bootcamp and Vista

Ok, I've just upgraded to the new iMac. Now I want to install Vista. Can I just buy a full copy and install it or do I need to buy XP and then a Vista upgrade? I seem to recall at one point a suggestion that Microsoft was going to make it such that the full Vista would not install on a Mac.

My wife's MacBook is running Windows Vista Business via Boot Camp and Parallel just fine. You should be able to use any editions via Boot Camp, but I think Parallel and Fusion may require non-Basic edition.

Thanks for this. Where can I get a full copy? Microsoft UK website only lists the upgrade.

A number of UK retailers, including Amazon, stocks full versions of Windows Vista. If you don't need to transfer license from one computer to another, you can save quite a bit of money by purchasing the OEM version.
