Heeeelllpp! everything unexpectedly quits!!
Ok so i have my powerbook g4 for like 4 years never a problem. Now safari unexpectedly quits all the time. also so does anyother application I use. even when downloading updates!
I bought disc warrior and ran it... still didnt fix. I bought a new 1 gig ram card.... still no working, I wiped my harddrive clean and reinstalled mac osx.... still dont work. i dont know what to do?? pllus every once in a while the screen will go dark and a black square will be in the middle and it says something like your system must be shutdown hold the power button for a few seconds to restart. can someone help me?? I sat at a genius bar for 4 hours and they didnt have answer. is there any REAL geniuses out there!!!?

Also, what OS version are you on?
What does your panic log say in /library/logs and also check out some of the application crash logs which can be in /Users/<name>/library/logs.

Mac osx 3.9 but thats just becuase i have tried installing tiger and updating to the newest versions and is still happens.

Since it keeps happening even after a reinstall, it may be an idea to check your hardware. If you boot your system CD using the 'd' key, it will run your hardware check. Also, do a check of your Ram using this program:

If they don't come up with anything, you can also try zeroing your drive. If you have bad sectors on your hard drive, wiping the drive with zeros should skip out the bad sectors whereas a simple format wouldn't. You do this in disk utility in the security option - just choose 1-pass.
