Wanna buys some tv's which ones would you go for
Hi ya,
I am looking at buying a couple of tv's. We are in Oz and the many ones that have been recommended to me are Sony X-series, Samsung M Series and the Sharp. I am looking for a 40" lcd.
Do you have any views.
When I look in the shop I think the picture looks best / more pleasing to the eye on the sony x series but every one raves about the samsung. With the samsung I see a bit of fuzz.
Am I missing something when I look at the pictures and compare.

Also, from what I've seen, Sonys do, in fact, have a slight edge for HD picture quality (although you'd have to look for yourself to see if you think the extra money is worth it) but do somewhat worse with standard definition. I also think that Sony's idea of a remote should be a chargeable offense.

wait untill christmas time. apparently a new tv technology is coming out that puts lcd and plasma to shame. it's laser tv. apparently half the price of old technology, bigger screens, much better color.

Yeah, but that's a projection TV technology (basically just replaces the light source in a DLP set with colored lasers), is unlikely to be offered in sizes much under 52" and seems to be a little sketchy on the details of the rollout.

it's sort of like a DLP tv but the lasers are much much smaller and the tv's are as thin as a plasma, and they are said to be made in all sizes and available around christmas early 2008.

The Sony's LCD panel is actually made by Samsung, so you may as well save a few bucks and go in for the Samsung unless you want the Sony Bravia name.

i find that sony and samsung are the two best tv's you can get. i went to future shop a while ago and compared them side to side and found that they were similar but the samsungs are still a bit nicer both physically looking and picture quality, but i do love the sony bravias with the glass trimming, they're hot.
I like the professional Panasonic plasmas that have no speakers (TV speakers sound like crap anyway, so having no speakers is a good feature). I bought the 50" one, and it is fantastic, and it was way cheaper than the Sony.
I'll enthusiastically second that, if you can go 42" or above the Panny plasmas are a great value, and the industrial models particularly so.

i found this site a few years ago, amazing deals on everything. for example
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4140819 you save 1000 dollars. pretty hawt. they're smaller sized screens have amazing cut backs on the price as well. a regularly priced 1800$ (canadian) sony bravia which i beleive was 42 inches, is 1200 ( american) on the site. which gives like 400 dollars saving once converted.
