Need Help (Error code-36)

I am using an external hard drive and now, every-time i transfer a folder it tells me



"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "**********.jpg" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)"



********* = name changes depending on the folder



With every folder! (I hardly have a folder without a .jpg file thought)







Any ideas, please?

    What format is the drive? - it tells you in the get info box. Do the files have some odd characters like quotation marks or long names?



    If the files themselves look ok, try running disk utility on the external drive and see if it finds any problems and repair if necessary.

    -36 is disk error. I recommend running some kind of disk check software.
