The 3 chimes

I'm a nearly 5 year mac user and couldn't imagine anything else. Just recently I've purchased a 24 inch imac and love it. However, it does this annoying thing where it intermitantly and seemingly randomly chimes/beeps 3 times. It did this before and after the 10.4.10 install and bug fix, and chimes irrespective of what I'm doing or what programs are open.



Does anyone else know what the hell this is or what it means? I'd love to know how to stop it.

    is it more like a beeping (rather muffled) sound

    or your selected alert-sound?
