Disk won't mount on Desktop

I can't get any disks (iPod, USB drive, downloaded disk) to mount on the desktop. They show in folder and I can access them there but nothing on the desktop. Is there some setting I may have changed?



This is on 1.25 G4 PB running 10.4.10

    Go the the finder preferences, it's the first item on the first tab.
