I saw this on Digg.

Oh come on, what the hell is that? A Nokia branded iPhone? It was presented during Nokia's GoPlay event this morning as a glimpse of what's coming with Nokia interface design. Oh, and it's due out next year. When pressed during the Q&A about the striking similarity to the little Cupertino device, Anssi Vanjoki -- Nokia's Executive VP & General Manager of Multimedia -- said, "If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride." Well, ok then. See what we mean after the break.

    If I didn't know it wasn't an iPhone, I'd think it's an iPhone. Too close for comfort.

    Holy ****. Not just does the acually phone design look similar, i can accept this because of current tech limits, but their interface is like the same. Blue and black, buttons a the bottom, flipping animations in the exact same style, photo scrolling exactly the same.

    I always liked Nokia. Perhaps us Canadians _will_ get an iPhone this decade.

    Um, it's a demo, not a product. They're showing they can also do what Apple does.

    What kind of touchscreen usage they'll actually go for will be seen in the next year's products.

    iPhone's featureset is pretty sparse, so if Nokia managed to successfully copy the interface, their phone would be the better one overall.

    Competition = good.

    Besides, some of the featureset weaknesses are hardware. Can't be fixed in software.

    I would think that device, if real, violates about 4,567 Apple patents.
