KaZaA will never truly work on the Mac because of how the data is encrypted on the server-side. Apps like Neo use brute-force tricks to get into individual computers, but it is slow and not the most reliable means.

I don't know what network Blubster uses, but there are several Gnutella clients for Mac OS X. LimeWire is one, but it's a bit slow and has a nasty interface. Acquisition is the preferred client by most people.

Then there's also XNap for the OpenNap servers and there's Direct Connect for, well, DC servers.

There are also other apps like Hotline and Carracho and KDX... blah blah blah...

Just remember that we have a pretty strong policy against piracy here at AppleInsider. Be careful with your posts in this thread.

Neo-modus has a DC client that works ok in OS X.

I just downloaded Acquisition and it is really really good I think. The interface is nice and it has been really fast for me. I like it better than Kaza. <a href="http://www.xlife.org/acquisition"; target="_blank">www.xlife.org/acquisition</a>

    Hope that helps you out.

Yep. Acquistion is really good compared to everything else.

I can never find anything I'm looking for over acquisition, or anything except kazaa for that matter. Then again looking for strange distant indy bands, and dub techno is hard work, even going to buy any cd's is difficult. But still for the mac acquisition is the best for sure.

Unfortunatly, the only network which had that kind of variety was Napster. RIP.

<a href="http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10218"; target="_blank">Direct Connect.</a> It's the only true option on the mac, unfortunetly it requires an investment of time and resources services like Kazaa do not.

I currently have access to 39TB.

    <a href="http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html"; target="_blank">BitTorrent.</a> I love BitTorrent.

Grab .torrent links from sites such as <a href="http://www.donkax.com/bittorrent/"; target="_blank">this.</a> Again, it's a bit (heh) more complex, but I love the philosophy. The files, and speed, are there.

I agree. There's nothing that comes close to how Napster once was.

For now, I'm using LimeWire because I'm not ready to pay for Acquisition right now.</strong><hr></blockquote>

You can run acquistion un-licenced andtheres no need to pay, if you ran kazaa you get loads of banners and annoying pop-ups for your free ride. In aquistion you only get a pop up asking you to buy it every 45 minutes
