Hey,

I was wondering if someone could somehow find me the specs of the size of the actual viewing area of the new iMac's screen (not the size of the whole monitor, but only the size of the area where stuff is displayed)

Width? Length?

Thanks

Not sure if this answers your question, but if they are truly 20" and 24" screens (and I don't know since I'm STILL waiting for mine), they would be 16.96" x 10.60" and 20.35" x 12.72" respectively.

You're thinking about the CRT times when the nominal and viewable sizes of screens were different. With flat panels, there's only the real size. HTH.

The Viewable area on my 20 inch G4 iMac is 20 inches. Since they use the same displays, I'm guessing that the viewable area is 20 and 24 inches.

Isn't there someone who actually owns a new iMac that can post the measurements here?

Like you can read from my last post, the diagonal measurement is 20". The viewable size of a flatscreen is its nominal size. Period. End of story.

Because you know the aspect ratio, you could calculate the height and width, but to spare you the trouble, iBrad already posted the correct values. Valid for every single 20" flatscreen of the same aspect ratio.
