Restoring Safari Bookmarks

I replaced my DSL (ISP = Verizon) modem/router last night and it wiped out my Safari bookmarks. What's with that? The install indicated that it was doing something with the bookmarks but we assumed that it was adding the Verizon URL to the bookmarks folder.

I tried to restore the Bookmarks per the Safari help page but the Bookmarks.plist file was modified during the install.

Several months ago I exported my Bookmarks to an .html file which I kept as an archive.

Is it possible to restore my Safari Bookmarks from the .html file?

Thank You

Yes, but you'll have to do a little bit of work (not much). First, import the html file using the Import Bookmarks option on Safari's File menu. The new bookmarks will appear in a folder in your Bookmarks library. Select "Show All Bookmarks" from the Bookmarks menu to see the folder and then drag the bookmarks (or folders of bookmarks) from the imported folder to the Bookmarks menu. The whole process should only take a few minutes.
