How do I crack open my Shuffle?

My Shuffle (2G) took a spin in the washing machine last night. It's a good thing Sept 5th is only 3 days away!!!!

Does anyone know how I can physically open it? I would just like to see inside it.

By the way, the headphones (newer style) were wrapped around the Shuffle, and also went through the wash. They seemed to work fine.

I did not dry the stuff in the dryer. Maybe I should try that.

NOO DO NOT dry them in the dryer. If you leave the shuffle alone for a couple of days it should start working again.

Put it in a plastic bag with rice.

I was just kidding about putting it in the dryer.....

I am trying the rice idea. Since a specific recipe wasn't given, I decided to make my own:

    1. iPod Shuffle

    2. 2/3 cup white rice

Put contents in one small snack-sized ziplock bag.

Gently shake so that the rice is covering the Shuffle.

Wait until Wednesday to see if it works. If not, new ones should be available.

    THANKS for the ideas!

take a screw driver and put it in the middle of the device on the top, then take a hammer and hit the end of the screw driver. if that doesn't work, nothing will.

I've had it in there for at least 48 hours - probably longer.

When I plug it in to the usb port, the light next to the power switch turns orange.

When I unplug it, the light goes off.

When I turn it on, the light does not come on, nor does the music.

    I'll keep drying it.
