I was reading apple's tech forums and someone did a Help Chat with apple. The confirmed that it is optical quality glass like the iphone and that tthe info has not yet been posted to the apple site.
I went ahead and ordered one after i read this cuz thats was one of my main ocncerns.

I just wanted to know about the iPod touch. Is the screen like the 5G and easilly scratched or is it like the iPhone and hard like glass?

The iPhone is, and given that the iPod Touch is similar in most ways it makes sense. That said we don't actually know.
