    I have a friend who had something similar happen to him for real after installing some BT internet software, however I must ask...

    It is plugged into a KVM? Very few USB KVMs actually work. The fact that the numbers are being produced predictably (notice 3's after e's, etc) means there's something going wrong at the control level. THis should be a problem that you can debug without our help. In otherwords, try a different keyboard.
