Apple has updated iTunes 7.4 already. there is no indication what has changed. Possibly to prevent free ringtone creation?

    If that is the reason, then WTF? Apple has been moving in the Verizon direction where they nickel and dime you to death.

    Ringtones still work, but you have to change the extension back to .m4a.
