iPhone unlocking software? (verizon)

So I'm on Verizon and I'm wondering if it would be worth it if I could use one of the available softwares out there to make the iPhone work with my current plan. How safe is it? and where can I find solid software? I was thinking about getting the iPod touch but if I could get the iPhone to work with my plan I'd rather do that.

    It won't work - Verizon uses CDMA and AT&T uses GSM. They are completely different networking methods. You'd need a CDMA chipset in the phone.
